Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you use Libris, you may provide the following information:
- Book Collection Data: Book titles, authors, ISBNs, cover images, reading status, ratings, and personal notes
- Library Organization Data: Library names, genre classifications, and organizational preferences
- Personalization Data: Your name for the bookplate feature, theme preferences, and notification settings
- Import Data: Any information you choose to import from CSV, JSON, or other file formats
Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or other technical information
- Usage Analytics: We do not track how you use the App
- Crash Reports: Standard iOS crash reporting (managed by Apple) may be enabled, which you can disable in your device settings
Camera and Photos
- Libris requests camera access for barcode scanning and custom book cover photos
- All photos are stored locally on your device or in your iCloud account
- We never upload photos to our servers
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to provide the App's functionality:
- Store and organize your book collection
- Enable barcode scanning for quick book entry
- Fetch book metadata from public APIs (Open Library)
- Sync your data via iCloud (if enabled)
- Send reading reminder notifications (if enabled)
- Export your data in various formats
We do not:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Use your data for advertising
- Track your reading habits for marketing purposes
- Share your data with anyone except as described in this policy
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
- All book collection data is stored locally on your device using iOS Core Data
- Your data is protected by your device's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
- Book cover images are stored in your device's documents directory
iCloud Backup
- If you enable the Auto Backup feature, your data is backed up to your personal iCloud account
- This backup is encrypted and protected by Apple's iCloud security
- We do not have access to your iCloud data
- You can disable iCloud backup at any time in the App settings
Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data:
- No user accounts or passwords (no login credentials to be compromised)
- All data stays on your device or in your personal iCloud account
- Industry-standard encryption for data at rest and in transit
Third-Party Services
Open Library API
- When you use ISBN lookup or book search features, the App queries the Open Library API (openlibrary.org)
- Open Library is a service of the Internet Archive, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
- The API request includes the ISBN or search terms you provide
- We do not send any personal information or reading history to Open Library

Apple Services
- The App uses standard iOS frameworks for camera access, notifications, and iCloud syncing

Your Rights and Choices
You have complete control over your data:
Access and Export
- Export your entire library at any time in CSV, JSON, or PDF format
- View all your data within the App
Modification
- Edit or delete any book entry at any time
- Change your personal information (bookplate name) at any time
- Clear all data using the "Delete All Data" feature in Developer Tools
Deletion
- Delete individual books from your library
- Delete your entire collection at once
- Uninstalling the App removes all local data
- You can manually delete iCloud backups through iOS Settings
Control Over Features
- Disable camera access in iOS Settings
- Disable notifications in iOS Settings
- Disable iCloud backup in App settings
- Control photo library access in iOS Settings
Children's Privacy
Libris does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The App is designed for
general audiences and book collectors of all ages. If you are a parent or guardian and believe
your child has provided information to us, please contact us at support@titanlabstech.net.
Data Retention
- Active Use: Data is retained as long as you use the App
- Uninstallation: When you uninstall the App, all local data is deleted
- iCloud Backups: Persist in your iCloud account until you delete them
- Server Storage: We do not store any user data on our servers
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- Displaying a notice in the App when significant changes are made
Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
International Users
Libris is designed to work worldwide. Your data is stored on your device and optionally in your
iCloud account, which may be located in various countries depending on your Apple ID settings.
We do not transfer your data internationally because we do not collect it on our servers.
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: You can request information about the data we collect (though we collect minimal data)
- Right to Delete: You can delete all your data at any time through the App
- Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of
- Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights
